SUCCESS STORY QUICK WINS
Penelope Webster had a passion-based blog for foster and adoptive parents. While she’d made a bit of money from advertising, she wanted a “real” business model to bring in income. She discovered VSM and committed to making a successful summit for her community.
HOW SHE USED VIRTUAL SUMMIT MASTERY
Penelope was new to the world of online business, so she took her time going through each and every module.
Penelope went from a tiny email list and no interent marketing experience to doubling her email list and generating $5k+ in sales (she had never made any money online selling her own products before taking VSM).
“Hosting a virtual summit has opened a new world of opportunities…” – Penelope Webster
Who are you and what’s your business (after VSM)?
I had a successful blog about being a foster parent. I had a small email list but knowing nothing of email marketing, had only sent blog updates to my list. My blog had made some income from ads, sponsored posts and affiliate links, but nothing more than a little spending money each month.
What were you struggling with the most before you joined Navid’s VSM? What did your business and life look like?
Although I had some income from my blog, I did not have a viable online business.
Why did you want to host a summit and why was it the best way for you?
I struggled with challenges in parenting my foster children who had suffered severe neglect; however, my biggest challenge was finding appropriate training and childcare to attend any trainings. A virtual summit became my passion project that would solve my problem with getting training without requiring travel or childcare and other parents like me.
Why did you join VSM (and not other courses)? What was your thought when you first found out about VSM? Did you do any research before you purchased?
I researched virtual summits online for months before joining VSM. Most articles that I found about virtual summits kept pointing to Navid’s VSM program.
What are some specific strategies, tactics or pieces of advice you learned in VSM that helped you create a successful (and profitable) virtual summit?
I struggled with feeling overwhelmed in this new world of online marketing, sales funnels, shopping carts, affiliate marketers, etc. Navid’s encouragement to move forward one step at a time helped me overcome my frustrations to create a successful summit for the adoption niche.
What specific results (email subscribers, revenue from all access pass, upsells, affiliate promos etc.) did you get by implementing what you learned in VSM?
I grew my email list over 75% with over 10% of summit attendees purchasing the all-access pass resulting in sales of over $5,600.
From start to finish, how long did it take you to put it together? And was it worth the time you spent?
I spent six months going through each of the VSM modules, and never missed a live Q&A with Navid, in order to learn a new way of creating an online business via virtual summits.
Did you face any big challenges in your journey to create, promote and launch your summit? How did VSM and the community help you overcome them?
Before VSM, I didn’t know anything about online marketing and had never even heard the term “sales funnel.” Through VSM, I learned the basics of online marketing which was entire new vocabulary for me. But I kept with it and successfully launched the Adoption HEART Conference.
How did you feel when you made your first sale from the summit?
My first sale happened nearly two months before I launched. I had shared in my private Facebook group that I was in the process of creating an online adoption conference. Some community members were so excited about this opportunity for training that they found the summit website through a Google search and purchased all-access passes.
How has hosting this virtual summit changed your business and life?
Hosting a virtual summit has opened a new world of opportunities for me to create a slew of digital products to the adoption niche.
What are you most excited about for your business moving forward?
I am excited to create other digital products, such as courses, to market to my email list.
As an active member of the Virtual Summit Mastery program and community, what would you say to someone who’s thinking about joining VSM?
The VSM community is supportive to all questions about online marketing and is a valuable resource for anyone like me who hasn’t worked in online marketing before.
What’s the BEST part of VSM in your opinion and why?
The support of the VSM community.
• Reach out for support. The community is there to help!
• Take your time going through the material. There’s no rush!
• Take it one step at a time, and don’t get overwhelmed.
